The music makes the difference, that's the bottom line. When you
control the music content at whatever party make sure and bring the
right music...ALOT of it. It's completely likely that what you
don't have will be the most requested, so bring it along.
I have worked for companies who
honestly wanted me to write down every song I was going to play,
pick out the songs I was planning on playing and leave the rest in
the warehouse. Take this tip...go work for somebody else if that's
the case. It is merely impossible to try and run your mobile show
like a radio station show, not with a live crown in front of you.
The main reason for that is because your intention there is for
dancing pleasure, not driving or background music while you do your
hair. Always bring all the music you can to your event, you'll need
it.
If you are an administrator of a dj
service then take these tips for music.
1) Compile your music hits onto
recordable cd's to make the load of music to a minimum. Your dj's
don't want to carry around 10 cases of music everywhere when half of
the songs are never played. This is also very helpful due to lack of
space available at a lot of gigs you'll play at. Please
remember that you MUST have purchased EACH COPY of music you have
for EACH system you run to make recording compiled discs
legal. If your have any questions regarding music duplication
laws see the Website: http://www.mpa.org/copyrigh.html
for useful Music copyright law information.
2) Include a repair list in with
your music cases for jocks to report on if there is a bad cd.
Replace the cd immediately.
3) Get the specialty request ready
for the dj hosting that event well in advance of the show. It's not
cool to drop the hat with a special request the party asked for in
advance.
