- How We Got Engaged: Brett was getting ready to leave the country for 6 months (he is a seabee in the Navy) so we both took leave from work for two weeks to go to Mrytle Beach, SC to see his mom and to go to Berlin, PA to see his dad. Well, while we were in Mrtyle Beach, Brett had a horse and carriage pick me up from his mom's. It was so beautiful. The driver of the carriage had on a white tail tux and the carriage was white with red velvet interior. The driver was waiting on me with 12 long stem yellow roses (my favorite). Brett and I road in the carriage to a ocean side resturant were he had arranged for us to be seated at a corner table with an ocean view. The whole time I just thought we were having a special evening b/c he was getting ready to leave me for 6 months. Anyway...after our meal, our waitress called for everyone's attention- next thing I know Brett is standing in front of the entire resturant- talking me up then bowing down on one knee with ring in hand, asking me for marriage. It was the happiest moment of my, so far, life. Of course I said, "Yes!" and next thing I know his mom pops out with other family and friends. After we all hugged and kissed everyone, we continued our evening in the horse and carriage until our evening was through.
