- How We Got Engaged: Christmas morning of 2001, Curt and I were getting ready to exchange gifts. He told me to look on the Christmas tree and see if I could find a new christmas bulb he had purchased and put on the tree. It took me a few minutes and then I found it. It was a beautiful christmas ornament and he told me to open it. I opened it, looked at him with tears in my eyes and he said with a smile on his face, eyes watering, "Will you?" I said yes, ran to him and we cried, laughed, kissed, hugged. And then he placed the ring on my finger!
