- How We Got Engaged: Steve is stationed overseas in Germany & had called me last Father's Day. While we were talking, he slipped in "Will you marry me?" I really wasn't paying attention to him when I said "Sure, I'll marry you. I also want a brand new Volvo fully loaded." When we hung up, I told my Mom what he said. I told her that he was playing with me. So when he called that next Sunday, I asked him was he kidding when he asked me to marry him or was he serious. He said that he was serious & meant every word of what he said. I, almost fainted from shock.
